How to: spider cake pops

Here's how you make those spooky spider cake pops!

What you need
- Lollipop sticks

- Black Jimmy Sprinkles
- Black licorice pinwheels
- Black candy melts
- Candy eyes (for example from wilton)
- Toothpicks

Step 1:

Using your recipe of choice, roll cake into a ball. You can also use a silicone cake pop mold or machine to make cake pops.

Step 2:
Dip a lollipop stick in melted black candy melts about 1/2 inch. Place that end into one side of the ball. Go about half way

Step 3:
Dip the cake pop into the black candy melts. After the pop is completely covered, tap the stick on the edge to drip off the excess.

Step 4:
As the candy melts hardens, place two candy eye on one side for the face

Step 5:
Immediately after, sprinkle black sprinkles all over the cake ball.

Step 6:
Cut black licorice pinwheel to desired length.
Applying can be done in two ways:
- After the pop dries completely, poke a hole with a toothpick in the cake pop, deep enough so the licorice stays on its own. Insert and curl the legs.
- Immediately after step 4, place licorice pieces on the cake ball. You hace to work quickly, as the candy melts hardens, place all legs and allow plenty of time to set up.
